I am a mom to a 4th, 2nd, and Junior Kindergartener at St. Paul. I am a project manager for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for the Federal Government as well as a co-owner of Scooter’s Coffee in Highland and Collinsville, Illinois. I attended All Saints Academy and Mater Dei High School and believe that Catholic education in a private school setting is very important. St. Paul is so much more than just a place where children go to learn, read and write, and that value and impact learned from St. Paul goes beyond what is seen on paper. I have enjoyed getting to know other parents and families over the past five years, and I enjoy building community where we can all support each other (parents/ families, students, staff, and administration). I feel that the more we can work together, the stronger we are and the better we can do. In my last two years on the school board, I hope to help contribute toward St. Paul’s financial goals and organizational vision, ensure that all children's’ needs are addressed by the policies and programs set in place, and continue to strive toward developing a community where we all feel welcome and heard.

St Paul School has a long history in my family. My Dad and his siblings along with myself attended St Paul’s Grade School and High School. A lot of my cousins went here. My 2 children attended SPS grade school from kindergarten thru 8th grade and now my school age grandchildren are students here. Not only are students provided an excellent education they are also taught values that are so important for a moral society to thrive. I’m concerned about what future generations are being taught and how far society is straying away from a Christian based life. SPS is so important to not just my family but to the City of Highland and surrounding communities as well! I want to do whatever I can to ensure future generations will continue to have a choice about what school they can attend and I pray their parents (and future parents) realize the benefits of a Catholic education and SPS is second to none!!

Being a lifelong Catholic, an educator, and now a homemaker and parent to three beautiful children, Catholic education and the success of St. Paul School is important to me and my family. Growing up in St. Charles, Missouri, I attended my parish grade school and then Incarnate Word Academy. Upon graduating from college with my B.A. in English and M.A. in Secondary English Education, I worked in the Parkway School District for 10 years as a high school English teacher and as my school’s service program coordinator, among serving in various leadership roles related to curriculum and character education. I moved to Highland after marrying my husband David, and his parish home of St. Paul quickly became mine, too. I love the faithfulness of this community and the way parishioners embrace young families, encouraging and supporting them in leading their little ones to Christ in participation of the Mass and beyond. As we anticipate the beginning of Kindergarten for our oldest in the years to come, I hope to support St. Paul School in continuing to educate and lead its students to discover all that is good, true, and beautiful as revealed by our Catholic faith.
